This session will discuss culture with specific focuses on communication from coach to player, building a system, and what "battles to pick" as a coach. It is important that we as coaches hold ourselves to very high standards in regard to what we say to our athletes, and it is equally important that we do not over-enforce our rules if there is a chance that we should be more lax given the various situations that could apply to our kids. To go into further detail, we as coaches have a tendency to be way too strict and restricting towards our players and may be demanding too much perfection-based training and philosophy, which works against both the player and the team.
